Tom Owen is a well-known Colorado watercolorist who began his career in the early 1970's when he moved to Colorado from the East Coast. He chose the watercolor medium for its capacity for visual expression and its challenge, which continues to excite him today. Only recently has he began to experiment with oil paints. Tom's paintings reflect his perceptions of the colors and atmosphere of the American Southwest, an area that holds enduring interest for him.
Tom Owen is a signature member of the National Watercolor Society and the American Watercolor Society. He has won numerous awards in state and national shows. His work has been shown in galleries and museums around the country. He has also been featured in the magazines such as "International Artist" and "Southwest Artist".
