"Power Poppies II" watermedia by Dorothy Mendoza
Archives

Exploring different media and techniques has been the history of Dorothy Mendoza's paintings. Always curious to explore the various methods of artistic expression, Dorothy began painting in oils. She continued to work for years in gouache and watercolor. In 1998, she began experimenting with acrylics and found she could combine the characteristics of both oil and watercolor. The versatility of acrylics merged the fluid transparent quality of watercolor with the opacity of oils and gouache. The result is exciting and vibrant paintings full of color and spirit.

Dorothy Mendoza's paintings can be found in many public and private collections throughout the United States. She exhibits in galleries in Colorado, New Mexico and California.
