Tamara Simmons was born in Frankfurt, Germany. At age nine she and her family immigrated to the U.S. settling in Maryland. Durning her teens she attended classes at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C. She then received her B.A. in fine art from the Universtiy of Maryland. She and her husband moved to Fort Collins, Colorado in the early 1990's.
In her paintings Tamara seeks to capture a realistic and lasting impression of her subject matter. She derives her inspiration from the beauty that surrounds us, be it a simple floral or still-life arrangement, the grandeur of our landscape, or the creatures who touch and brighten our lives.
Tamara's paintings have received corporate, regional and national awards. She is currenlty represented by three Colorado galleries.
